What would happen in the "cruise ship" scenario, where the Android phone isn't connect to any mobile data or Wi-Fi network - would there be anything for the Pi to actually tether to on the phone.Audio Beats – Music Player Premium 6.6.9-100669007 Apk for Android Will experiment tomorrow to see if I can make the phone a WAP and tether the Pi to that. Odd to think the Raspberry Pi has no internal clock on the motherboard like PCs do - guess it's a space saving measure to avoid needing to put a battery on the board. So maybe a background script that checks every few minutes to see if the current date is less than 2021 then try to get the time if internet is up … then exits.Have played a few tracks this evening with the Pi disconnected from Wi-Fi and set as the WAP, and confirmed that Playlog plugin shows no history of the tracks played - presume this also means the Last.fm plugin won't store up any Scrobbles. Is there anyway to enable this? Was wondering if I somehow tethered the Pi to the phone, perhaps the phone's connection could supply the time - but can't see how this can be achieved if the phone has no external Wi-Fi of its own? For context, I'm going on a mini-cruise shortly, so there'll likely be no Wi-Fi or mobile data signal in the phone it could tether to, but I'd like to be able to use my pCP (in Flirc case) and 2TB HD as a portable music server and still be able to record its Scrobbles for uploading when it next has a "proper" Internet connection.Īlso … with the Pu connected to the phone … where the phone is acting as WAP … then it should be possible to get the time by running the getTime.sh script … Looking at the code on the screen when booting the Pi in WAP mode, it shows it can't find the time - would this mean Scrobbling doesn't function when pCP is in WAP mode? One question: this thread suggests LMS needs the time to be set. then bring the broadband back.I've managed to successfully enable WAP in my pCP, connect my Android to the Pi's Wi-Fi signal and control it from the pCP web interface and Squeeze Ctrl - although pCP never seems to remember the Bluetooth speaker that was last used, so there's a bit of delving about in the web interface to connect it again after a reboot. then shutdown LMS and reboot the LMS server. You could test though by temporarily disconnecting your broadband (apparently life continues in this situation).
